the pool, good location, nice view, convenient, very pleasant
It is economical and clean. Gets me close enough to visit my son (Santa Barbara) .
One problem this trip though - some diesel truck (semi) in the parking lot was running early in the morning, before sunup. No one ever came out to tell them to take it to the street or away from the motel/rooms. Very noisy. Oh - the shampoo has a bad odor. I would change brands. Smelled like a musty old closet!
It was nice and a good location,
Great value for your money especially being walking distance to the beach.
The man on reception. He was particularly friendly and helpful.
The water supply in the room whistled. The lighting was very dim. Tv reception was poor.
It seemed that the bathroom had been recently updated.
We had a very long check-in; about 45 minutes. The non-smoking room smelled like smoke.
The staff was extremely pleasant and the room was clean, neat and quiet. Great place for the price.
not to much
did not like the party next to us ,until 11pm. very loud noisy .kept us from sleep.
Location. Wifi worked fine.
Would rate the Best Western, which is next door, higher due to the much more complete free breakfast.
good clean room
lots bad...1st nite parked in overflow parking...a passed out young man sleeping on the ground in driveway next to his bicycle. 2nd nite...woke up in nite to lots of arguing and load noise, then at 6 am when we woke there was a lady in her underwear in the jacuzzi playing music. She was obviously on drugs. 3rd nite coming home from dinner passed by 2 rooms with open doors and a strong smell of marijuana coming from both rooms. This hotel has a lot of weekly/monthly renters that spend the better part of each day partying in their rooms and around the pool area. Did not feel safe using the pool or being out of our room. Only good part of the hotel was the closeness to the Fairgrounds. Will never stay there again.
Wow, what's not to like. The staff were fantastic, the value was on the best I've ever had. The beach was a 5 min (max) walk away. There was a restaurant attached to the hotel where I had breakfast and wonderful conversations with the wait people. The vibrant downtown was a 2 block walk away and there was a huge lawned park with large mature trees and structures for kids to play on. I will certainly be back.
To be honest, I can't think of anything I did not like.
Close to the beach and downtown, with a decent pool and hot tub. The hotel also has a nice diner, which was quite popular. The room was decent for the price.
The room and the facility as a whole is a notch below that of the Best Western, just next door. The toilet in our room was running. The continental breakfast was also more minimal than expected, with coffee being the only drink offered.
When we arrived we were greated by a very friendly gentleman. He was extremely helpful and told us all the best places to go. Once we got our key, we went to our room which hadn't actually been cleaned. When telling the reception person about this he was very apologetic and found us a new room which was spotless. The pool area is lovely and the continental breakfast was basic but nice. The vagabond inn is just a short walk to the beach and was in a nice area. I would definitely return!
Rooms were standard and comfortable. Location was close to beach and great town. The town was filled for events so I felt lucky to get a room.
Room smelled bad. Mold? Smoke? Days later we still could smell that smell on our clothes. Outside walkways could be swept with a broom.
Did not like location .Train very loud behind building.building need upgrade, room very small.Suppose to have couch ,chair and very small table only.Wallpeeling and dirty lower walls.Pool did not open till way after 0900 am. not clean. Not worth the money.Breakfast cold pastries only.Oj and coffee.
